Data Analytics
Data Analytics serves as the agency’s backbone for collection, management, analysis, and interpretation of data. Data Analysts use analytic software, statistical techniques/qualitative methods, and technical expertise to assess population health status, monitor disease trends, and evaluate public health programs in order to educate the public on health promotion, support data-informed decision making, and advance the science and practice of public health.
Chronic Disease
Data Analytics staff support the evaluation of the Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health (REACH) program that is managed by the Population Health Service Area. REACH aims to improve health, prevent chronic diseases, and reduce health disparities through policy, systems, and environmental change. Visit HIP-Cuyahoga here to learn more.
Community Health Improvement
The Data Analytics team manages a grant from the HealthComp Foundation to support Cuyahoga County Community Health Assessment (CHA) and Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) efforts, and Healthy Northeast Ohio, a population health data repository for a 9-county region. Visit healthyneo.org to view Cuyahoga County’s CHA and CHIP reports and more.
Maternal & Child Health
Data Analytics staff provide data analysis support for the agency’s maternal and child health-related programs, including the Ohio Equity Initiative, focusing on addressing racial inequities in birth outcomes and reducing infant deaths, led by the Population Health Service Area. Substance Use
The Data Analytics teams conducts drug overdose morbidity and mortality surveillance for the Cuyahoga County Overdose Data to Action (OD2A): LOCAL program managed by the Environmental Public Health Service Area and provides technical assistance for the ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga County’s Bureau of Justice Assistance Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Abuse Program (COSSAP) grant.
