Sleep-related deaths are the most preventable cause of infant death. Unsafe sleep environments are the primary danger to babies while they sleep.
In Cuyahoga County, we lose an average of two babies every month due to unsafe sleep environments. That equals one classroom of children that will never get the chance to go to school.
Always put your baby to sleep Alone, on his/her Back, in a bare-naked Crib, and Don’t smoke around the baby.
Please watch this safe sleep video which was created by the Cuyahoga County Child Fatality Review program in collaboration with Invest In Children and CCBH. It shows the best ways to create a safe sleep environment for your baby.
