Subjective Cognitive Decline in Cuyahoga County

Subjective cognitive decline (SCD) is self-reported memory problems that have been getting worse over the past year. SCD is often one of the early signs of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

  • 11.2% of people aged 45 and older report experiencing SCD
  • Nearly half of people aged 45 and older with SCD have not discussed their symptoms with a health care provider
