2025 Q2 Syphilis Data Brief
The Syphilis Report Q2 2025 summarizes syphilis trends across Region 3 and Cuyahoga County from April 1 to June 30, 2025. A total of 175 cases were reported across all stages of illness, with the highest number (63 cases) occurring in April. Region 3 continued a multi‑year increase in syphilis incidence, with 415 cases reported through the first two quarters of 2025.
In Cuyahoga County, 64.6% of cases occurred in males, 55% had a previous STI history, and 22% were HIV‑positive. The 30–34 age group represented the largest share of new infections. Racial disparities persisted, with Black/African American residents most affected (100 cases). Among the 175 diagnosed individuals, 123 (70%) were treated, while 34 did not receive treatment, including notable proportions across Black, White, Hispanic, and multi‑racial groups.
