The American Cancer Society has estimated that approximately 1 of every 2 males and 1 of every 3 females will develop invasive cancer in his or her lifetime.
With those figures in mind, we have created, for the first time in our history, a comprehensive countywide cancer report which describes differences in the cancer burden across many different levels including gender, race and geography. This 600-page report compares the amount of cancer in our county with statewide and nationwide levels using 24 established cancer types.
